“Lauder (1841-1920) was the son of John Thompson Lauder, portrait painter, and a relative of Robert Scott Lauder, the tutor of many distinguished Scottish artists. He studied at The Glasgow School of Art under C Heath Wilson and Robert Greenlees. He principally painted street scenes, marine and architectural subjects. He was elected RSW in 1885.”
