Wonderful limited edition set of two prints taken directly from the original wet collodion glass negatives made by Lewis Carroll in October 1879 of a child at the time by the name of Leila Campbell Taylor
Mounted, framed and glazed, each measuring approx. 19″ x 15″
They come with four explanatory pages (39cm x 29cm)
Slight chip damage to frames, yet these can’t really be seen when hung on display

“These two images come from the final six months of Carroll’s photographic output. They were, apart from one other, the only known surviving Carroll negatives and after printing this limited run, they were donated to a ‘national photographic institution’ on the proviso no further direct prints were ever made. These prints were so faithful to the original, that even Carroll’s fingerprints at the edge of the negative are preserved in the image.”
