The Victorian clockmaker referred to as J.J. Elliott was James Jones Elliott, who founded the company in London in 1865 and specialized in producing high-quality, weight-driven movements, particularly those with chimes. His firm, J.J. Elliott & Company, made significant contributions to clockmaking through its innovative designs and the production of massive, high-quality hall clock movements that were sold worldwide.
